About Our Rehome Program

From time to time, we find that we must find good homes for good dogs. Sometimes these dogs are from our breeding program and are being retired. They have blessed us with many miracles and we feel it is only fair to find a home for them where they can be number one, not one of numbers. While it breaks our heart, it is what we feel is for the best interest of the dog, to go into a home where they can be pampered, and doted on, treated as royalty.

On occassion, we have a pup returned because their owner can not keep them. This could be because of a loss of income, loss of home, or a change in schedule. We then step in and help with finding a forever home.

There is also the ones that just do not mature as we had hoped, and we feel they should not move forward for breeding.

Adopting an adult has its own challenges. While a puppy will adjust to a new home within days, an adult takes much longer. You must be willing to devote at least a minimum of one month to allow time for adjustment. There will be issues arise, just as with a pup, only different. But know in the end, an adult can offer so much. And we offer support and help in solving any problems that may arise.

Adoption Requirements

We are very careful where we place our adults. Temperament matches are a must, so we will ask you many questions to see if we have "a fit". Our top priority is to find the best home for our dogs. They are dogs we have raised and we love them very much. It is critical that we find the absolute best environment for them to live out their retirement years.

We prefer that you live within 150-200 miles of our home. If, for some reason the adoption does not work out, it is much easier to return the dog to us. That is required as we refuse to allow one of our dogs to ever enter a shelter situation.

Our Shilohs are to live as house companions. They are not to be kenneled outside or tethered to a dog house.

A fenced yard is preferred. However, we will consider someone without a fenced yard if they are experienced dog handlers.

We reserve the right to do a home check as well as requiring references. Adoption fees vary, please contact us

Pickup is in person as we will not ship adult Shilohs. It is much too stressful for them.

Currently Available: July 2010

Jordan: Jordan is a very sweet girl, loving and affectionate. She will be available in late October, once she has weaned her babies and is spayed. She will be good in just about any environment. She will make a wonderful family pet. Jordan is five years old, plush golden sable.
ADOPTED

Knightro: Knightro is a 4 1/2 year old plush black/silver male with a heart of gold. He gets along great with other females, and some neutered males. He has a soft temperament and would do well in a home with older children or a home with older adults. His brother Dante' is one of our success stories.(see picture on right) Knightro did not pass his health testing and has mild HD in one hip. While it is not bad enough to limit his activity, he can not be used for breeding. He will make an awesome family companion. Knightro has been raised exclusively in our home, and has never been kenneled. He is crate trained, and learns quickly. He will need his house manners brushed up on, but will catch on quickly once he knows what is expected.

Rayne: Miss Rayne is a five year old smooth gray sable female, with a solid stable yet reserved temperament. She is being retired and as much as we would love to keep her, we feel she would do best in a home. She gets along well with other dogs, especially males, as long as they are soft tempered. She loves to play and is very athletic. She is very willing to please and loves to sit by your side and be petted. She has been raised in our home and is crate trained, walks well on a leash, and would do well in continuing obedience. She must go to a home with a fenced yard.

Taylor: Taylor is a very sweet, plush red sable, 5 year old female. She will be available later this year, after another breeding attempt. Taylor has never produced a litter for us, so we would like to give her one more chance.
She has completed basic obedience, and has a strong desire to please. She would do well with children and adults.
ADOPTED
